$1,300,000 Settlement For Driver Hit in Rear

A woman in her 30’s had stopped her vehicle in a safety zone waiting for a parking spot to
become available when another vehicle struck her car in the rear. The court agreed that the other
vehicle was 100% responsible for the accident and granted the plaintiff summary judgment on
liability. The client sustained a herniated disc her to low back for which she underwent lumbar spine surgery. She was also unable to return to work for the four years following the accident.
The case settled for $1,300,000 out of the available $1,500,000 in insurance coverage.
